Finally the day has come to set off on our trip to Portugal. The time seems to have flown in since we first dicsussed entering the rally and now we are ready to go.

Thanks to everyone who has donated and helped us achieve our goal.

First stop for the Sheriffs car is in Chester to pick up Malcolm before we head down to Dover for the ferry to Calais. The it's onto Rouen and the start of the rally where we will meet up with our other team mates in the General MacLee.

After a nail biting few hours at the DVLA in Inverness Neil finally managed to get some temporary documents over the counter to allow us to take the car on the rally. Pheww!

It's now safely in Falkirk, stickered up and ready to go!

We set off for Chester on Tuesday morning.. can't wait!

Well done Neil - all the hard work has paid off and I'm pleased to annouce we now have a shiny new MOT certificate for the Audi!

Next stop V5, T-Cut and stickers!

After 3 weeks of very hard graft, late nights and midgies from hell, Neil has pulled out all the stops to get the car finished and booked in for an MOT on Monday.

We're all crossing our fingers and hoping it flies through so Neil can finally take it easy. Next jobs are insurance and decoration.

Sadly our white cruiser was mortally damaged in pursuit of them Jock boys so we've had to commendere a new one... from the Hazzard County Fire Department... we are smokeys after all!

A huge thanks to all those who attended the Jocks of Hazzard party on Saturday night. Between the combination of entry donations, raffle ticket and game sales we raised a massive £310 with the money to be split between the Jocks and Sheriffs.

The costume turnout was excellent and a great time was had by all.

An extra thanks to Boss Hogg and Daisie for organising and hosting the event.

With just over 2 weeks to go, it's tenderhook city as we wait to find out if the Audi is going to be ready in time.

Delayed parts and bad weather have hampered progress but Neil is pulling out all the stops in a last ditch attempt to have the Audi ready for its MOT.

Good news! we finally have a car to turn into our Hazzard County Sheriffs Police Cruiser! Its a mighty 90hp turbo deisel Audi 80 Avant.

And what price for such a wonderful example of German engineering? Did we blow our £250 budget?? Oh no, after some tough negotiations by Neil, the generous owners of Stac Pollaidh Self Catering very kindly donated it for free! Bargain.

Not quite at panic stages yet but all the rest of the organising is going well, ferry, accomodation, donations starting to roll in. But still no car.
